Pilot Car Safety Policy

It is the policy of AFSCompany to perform work in the safest possible manner. To fulfill the requirements of this program, an organized and effective safety policy must be carried out at each location where work is performed.
This safety program is made up of three areas.

Responsibility for the management of the safety program is with the V.P. - Operations. The implementation of the safety program is delegated to line supervision in accordance with the chain of command.

It is the responsibility of all supervisors to instruct new employees in the applicable operating and safety rules of his particular crew. He will conduct a safety meeting with his entire crew regularly and complete a “Safety Meeting Report / Job Safety Analysis” sheet that documents that safety meeting and keep it in his “Company Policies Handbook”. He will also be responsible for providing the necessary protection to the public, company employees and company equipment from hazardous situations or conditions that may arise.

General safe work practices and procedures apply to all employees regardless of the nature of their specific duties. Safe work practices and procedures are to be explained to each employee upon hire, and will be continually reviewed and emphasized at daily safety meetings.

It is a condition of employment with AFSCompany that every employee will work safely and act responsibly at all times on or off location.

Below are the minimum requirements that will be enforced strongly. This manual contains the policies that define these minimum requirements and additional specific safety policies.

All Personal Protective Equipment including but not limited to, steel-toe shoes, safety Hardhat, hearing protection & safety glasses will be worn as required.

All employees shall wear clothing and shoes appropriate to the duties performed. Clothing shall be clean and in good repair, loose and torn clothing are prohibited.

All work areas will be kept clear of loose materials and debris.

All tools and equipment are to be kept clean and free of dirt and grease.

NO HORSEPLAY.

Company vehicles will be operated in strict accordance with all applicable State and Federal laws. Any violations will result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.

NO FIREARMS.

Any employee found to be in violation of the company’s strict Alcohol and Drug policy will be terminated immediately.
Any violation of any of the safety rules stated above by any employee will be cause for disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
